Pre-orders will be taken at Tokimeki Mall and Circle K Sunkus stores from 9AM on 8th August 2009.
On the 18th of August they will be announced to the general public.

"MAKE YOUR DREAM GARAGE." The first in the GSR Car series is Le Man's ultimate GT machine!

The Shelby GT500 is a special Mustang produced by Shelby America and Carroll Shelby himself - a man who has had a huge impact on automotive racing and design over his lifetime. This mini-car is a model of the Road Going GT that obtained victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race - a higher grade version of the GT500 that was built between the official GT350 and GT500 models.

In comparison to the original Mustang, the GT500 has a much more dynamic design. It has a noticeably more aerodynamic front, as well as a new, original hood and duck-tail construction around the rear engine also leaves a strong impression on anyone who lays eyes on the vehicle. The "Le Mans" stripes over the body and raised light on the bonnet are also a show that this is no ordinary car.

Equipped with a 428 cubic-inch Police Interceptor engine, and with a 428 cubic-inch Cobra Jet V8 rated at 335 horsepower which it inherited from the Ford GT40 before it - however, due to it's different engine, the GT500 was still considerably different to the GT40. The torque it could create from the low level of revolutions in the engine, allowed for a much more comfortable and controllable ride. Currently, the new model of the GT500 is still able to boast excellent performance - including cruise control for today's busy roads. The new model also comes with the choice of a 4-speed manual, or 3-speed automatic transmission.

The final 'true' Shelby model

The GT500 model was manufactured at the Shelby America factory on the west coast. As the 1968 model was actually manufactured by Ford, the 'true' last Shelby was the 1967 model. The Shelby GT500 is the American model of superior, powerful driving. It was created with a chassis fine-tuned to race on any racing circuit, with rear tires always equipped with LSDs, and adjustable shock absorbers. Even the gear box was faster handling than the standard Mustang. It was a car that boasted performance, style, and a wonderfully unique appearance. Additionally, the car became famous when it debuted as 'Eleanor' in the movie 'Gone in Sixty Seconds', starring Nicolas Cage.

The GSR American Muscle series is here to release high quality models of a number of the most famous American cars. Coming up in the line up is the 1970 Dodge Challenger, the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette, the 1965 Shelby AC Cobra 427, the 1971 Mustang Mach 1, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and many more to look forward to.
