23 years have passed since the TV series aired. Currently being serialized in Hobby Japan is an original story "Armoured Trooper Votoms: Commando Vorct" - from this story comes the main character's favorite AT, the "Rane Custom" to join the 35MAX series.
Based off the mass-produced Scopedog, but with custom improvements to the chest and visor, it became a personal custom model. It's armed with a special machine gun with joint magazines. All removable parts can be used with other machines in the 35MAX series.
