Challenging the Spa 24 Hours Race Once Again

Good Smile Company has competed in the GT300 class of Super GT since 2008 as GOODSMILE RACING. In 2017 we first competed in the Spa 24 hours as GOODSMILE RACING & TeamUKYO. This year we plan to challenge the Spa 24 Hours again under a different name: GOODSMILE RACING & TYPE-MOON RACING.

This year we will once again be making use of the Mercedes-AMG GT3. This time, however, our car will feature a custom design with the characters from the Fate series. Since it's creation in 2004 the series has garnered fans around the world and that appeal has been captured in collaboration with TYPE-MOON RACING.

A Joint Team of RS Fine and Black Falcon

Having learnt a lot from our first challenge in 2017, we have built up a new team that includes both RS Fine and the outstanding German team Black Falcon. In addition to supporting GOODSMILE RACING in the SUPER GT series, RS Fine is an outstanding garage that has many impressive accomplishments. Black Falcon is a garage focused on the Nürburgring circuit, known for many impressive victories.

In terms of drivers, we have a new member to introduce. Joining Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka we have the Greek-British driver Adam Christodoulou. He competed in the 24 Hours Nürburgring as part of team Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon in an AMG GT3. In addition to his impressive victory at that event, he has a stellar record at many other endurance events.

The 15th Anniversary of Fate/stay night

The Fate game series, which started in 2004 with the release of the PC game Fate/stay night by Type-Moon, has grown into a full line with many different works that span various media. As the Fate universe continues to grow, the fan base around the world continues to grow with it.

Even at the very start of the series popularity Good Smile Company has made figures of many of the many characters that appear in the Fate series, and with this anniversary, we finally have the chance to show our long-held love and appreciation for the series with this collaboration.

The 24 Hours of Spa is a legendary endurance race that has been held at the world famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, home of the Belgian Grand Prix, since 1924. It is considered one of the three largest endurance events in the world together with 24 Hours of Le Mans and 24 Hours of Daytona.

As a part of the Blancpain GT series, which has been popular in Europe these past few years, it gathers GT3 cars from around the world, acting like a championship of the GT3 racing world. Japanese cars have won in 1981 and 1991 with the Mazda RX-7 and Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R respectively. The Japanese driver, Naoki Hattori, has achieved victory in the past, but a Japanese team has yet to take the trophy.
